Today I was humbled.
There is a young Sudanese girl, 10/11 yrs. old who comes each week for Food Distribution for her mother. She is the cutest thing and since she is in school here, her Hebrew is super good. Today she brought her brother with her and I asked her (in Hebrew), “Is this your brother?” and she said, “yes“. So, I said to him “Shalom!” And he said “Shalom” back. Then he turns to his sister and asks her (in Hebrew), “does she know Hebrew?” (referring to me) And the girl replied back, “Yes. Just not good Hebrew.”
There really isn’t a response to that, so I looked at her, smiled, and said “Toda raba!!!” (thanks so much). She just smiled back. Oh, the joy of honesty from a child!!!

But seriously, the fact that you even understood any of that…amazing. Yay you!!!
when my Hebrew is called “good Hebrew” then it will be amazing! lol
oh, the funny things children say….completely honest even though we might not want to hear it…
my 6 year old while walking through the airport a couple of weeks ago decided to lay one on the family…
acting a bit disturbed she quietly pulled us aside and said, “from this height, I see a lot of butt cracks”
I soon realized that in California and especially in the airport, there are a lot of cropped shirts being worn..along with lower pants…my daughter obviously does not approve
now that is just too funny! Cali life is definitely different from the midwest… is TN considered midwest or south??? I’m not quite sure on that one.
Too precious! I love it!
I need to take a pic of her…she is just too adorable, then you can really know how precious it is. I will work on that one
That’s good!
