Taking a trip down memory lane today…. a loooooong trip! One that brings me back to my childhood Saturday mornings, which were designated as our cartoon watching time. My sister and I were allowed to get up early and watch TV, as long as we were quiet and let mom and dad sleep in a bit 🙂 We would eat our animal crackers and enjoy our Saturday Morning-Filled-Bliss.
Here’s a look into my top 5 shows (in no particular order):
1. Get Along Gang
2. Snorkels
3. Smurfs
4. Shirt Tales
5. Fraggle Rock
Mind you, there were many others we enjoyed along the way… Inspector Gadget, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, Muppet Babies…. after all, this was the era when Saturday was the only day you really got to watch TV as a kid. Regular days were actually filled with school and playing outside with your friends. But ohhhhhh, those joyous Saturdays 🙂
Any Saturday Cartoons you remember from your childhood???

I was on the same schedule! I’d get up before the test pattern was even off the screen, grab the cereal, and watch three plus hours of cartoons. The only time I was ever allowed to sit in the house that long was while my parents slept in. There was Captain Caveman, The Laugh Olympics, Hong Kong Fooy (sp?), and Scooby Doo! Saturday mornings were awesome!

Snorkels?? don’t remember that at all but then maybe you watched that while we were sleeping in! LOL
Not only were you not watching TV during the week but weren’t on the computer or video games either. Just good old fashioned neighborhood playing!!

LOL Maybe that was the case cuz we loved the Snorkels. Nothing like good old fashioned neighborhood playing!!

Okay…Heard of and watched Fraggle Rock and Smurfs…but what the heck is a Snorkle? 🙂
Some that I loved were Schoolhouse Rock (to this day why I am a Social Studies Genius), JP Patches (regional show I think but totally the reason I have a fear of clowns), Puff the Magic Dragon (NO story here or bearing on my current adult life…no really…)
