The Circus Comes to Town

Brian’s Circus was the main event for us this week.  We all (staff and interns) picked up and headed to town for the amazing event.  You’ve just never been to a circus till you go to an African one.  We had a blast, even though much of the fun came from making it ourselves.  The whole night was like being in some Will Farrell/John Header comedy.  We never stopped laughing.  There was a total of 3… yes, 3  wild animals: 1 lioness and 2 tigers.  None of them did anything the trainer asked them to do, but basically ate pieces of meat during the 2 minute showing. We all decided Rebecca could have been the trainer and done a better job. All of the performers (and I use that term lightly) doubled as concession stand workers, glow stick sellers, or ticket collecters…classic!  My personal favorite had to be the roller skating couple (you heard me correctly: roller skating) They rocked the most with their spandex costumes and amazing feats! But, the highlight of the night came at the end, when all of us girls took a photo with the rope swinger artist, Martinez.  Well, maybe the highlight for him (and Char hehehehe) Overall, we had a great time! Laughter is the best medicine 🙂

Something tells me that you are having too much fun at Thrive and we might not ever see you again! Ha! Seriously, as circus? You can’t get that kind of action in this dusty village…..unless you count our tent and a few donkeys that make their way into the church property. 🙂 Glad you had fun! 🙂
