The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

Striped PajamasThe Boy in the Striped Pajamas

….If you haven’t seen this movie, then you must.

A story of WWII from the eyes of an 8 year old boy.  A German 8 year old boy.  A son of a high ranked Nazi officer, German 8 year old boy, who befriends an 8 year old Jewish boy on the other side of the fence.

If you don’t think that the way we raise our children, teach our children, or pour into our children makes a difference then think again!  Everything we say and do influences them.  Whether we realize it or not, they are watching us.  Our choices affect them directly or indirectly, and sometimes the consequences are more than we could ever imagine.

Powerful, yet tragic message!

That hasn’t come here yet, it will probably go straight to video since we only get new(er) releases and even then they are sometimes late. I saw a preview for this though and really wanted to see it.

Redbox is really cool. In the states it is this big red box like a vending machine at grocery stores, walmarts, McDonald’s, ect. and it costs $1 to rent a movie. Mostly it holds new releases but sometimes they have classics in there as well. The cool thing is that you can get and return your movie at any redbox. So you don’t have to go to the same one and so since people are returning movies to different boxes some of them have different movies to rent. The idea is a buck a movie for a night I guess. It is pretty ingenious and kind of putting blockbuster out of business. But whatever, everyone is going to netflix anyways.

I, too, have seen the movie “The Boy In The Striped Pajamas”
and it haunted me for days, in fact I couldn’t sleep that night after seeing it. Several aspects of the movie were disturbing and yet it was an accurate portrayal of what it was like for the Jews who lived in a camp like that. I can’t even accurately describe the feelings that it produced in me while I watched it…
there were so many. The horror of it will stay with me.
